duty of undivided loyalty

The duty of undivided loyalty obligates a lawyer to advance the client’s interest, to exercise independent professional judgment, to refrain from assuming a role adverse to the client, to not allow the representation of one client to interfere with the representation of the other, to follow the client’s lawful directions on all substantive matters, and to not abandon the client.
